Accidents happen. A vehicle backed into this commercial overhead door and crushed the bottom panel - splitting it open and leaving a gap where the section completely separated from the rest of the door. The door was still in place, but it wasn't doing its job anymore.

When something like this happens, you have two choices: wait with a damaged, compromised door or get it temporarily secured while the replacement panel is ordered. We went with option two. A temporary fix gets the door functional and closed again so the building isn't exposed while we wait on the new section to come in. It's not a permanent solution, but it keeps things moving.

Here's the thing most people don't realize - even what looks like a minor dent or bent panel is worth getting checked out. A damaged section can throw off the balance of the entire door, put extra strain on the opener and springs, and leave gaps that affect security and weatherproofing. It's not just a cosmetic issue.

Once the replacement section arrives, we'll swap out the damaged panel and the door will be back to proper working condition. Garage door panel replacement is one of the more common repairs we handle, and it's almost always a cleaner, more cost-effective option than replacing the entire door - especially when the damage is isolated to one section like this.

If your door has taken any kind of impact - from a vehicle, falling object, or anything else - don't sit on it. The longer a damaged panel stays in service, the more stress it puts on the rest of the system. A quick inspection can tell you exactly what you're dealing with before it turns into a bigger problem.
